• 76 percent of the population live on less than $2 a day.

• 54 percent live on less than $1 a day.

• 81 percent do not receive the minimum daily ration of food as defined by the World Health Organization.

• 66 percent had no access to electricity.

• 52 percent do not have access to clean water, basic sanitation, basic health needs and basic education.
